Happy Valentine's Day!

The Best Friend Survey : Valentine's Edition.
For best friends, by best friends.

1) What does Valentine's Day mean to you?
since i'm still filing my taxes as "single" - valentine's doesn't mean much to me at all. it seems like a couples-only deal y'know. but it is a sweet way to give your friends cheesey things and/or commiserate with them about how stupid this day is. if i had an awesome relationship though, this day might be exciting. until then, everyone will know i care with a power-ranger valentine. and since i'm lazy and didn't get any valentines - i may just blow everyone a kiss.

2) Who do you think Cupid really is?
ok seriously, let's think about this. does anyone else think it's weird that love and war are commonly used to relate to each other? people go hunting with guns and bows and arrows to dominate and end-the-life-of another living creature - either for self-preservation or just for fun. oh wait, i just described a situation that many people find themselves in, in their love lives. ha, silly me. you are either hunted or the hunter. and i think cupid is a blind, drunk, pansy. why is he using arrows in the first place? ok, i need to stop now. i see there's still more questions to answer. =)

3) What do you wish could happen on this day?
i'd LOVE to win the lottery. that money could keep me nice and warm. or, it'd be awesome for like, a random hot guy to smile at me at work or something. enough to send me to cheezdom, and i'd roll back to my desk because i had instantly morphed into a cheese log.

4) Who is your best friend?
Mital Patellllllll..... aka Mystal, Mitalben Laden, Mitz, Meeti, Patallion Stallion, Moodle, Metal, "Mital in the Middle but she got much Back! wa-pshht!!!" and the white people call her Mit Pit.

5) What do you love about them?
uh, everything. she's one of the only people in my life to see me at my worst and helped bring me to my best. she's always strong and mature - though she cries like a little girl once in a while, often. i love listening to her and hearing words come out of her mouth, most of which i never imagine coming out of her mouth. i think that's it - she can be fun anytime anywhere, full of surprises - and keeps the drama at bay with me.

6) What's the funniest thing they do or say?
again, EVERYTHING. well, except for our mindbending heartwrenching serious talks - well - we even laugh through those too. ok, the funniest thing was said in college - in response to, "hey mital, do you masturbate?" and she raises her eyebrows, busts out the indian hand-motions, and says, "Who Doesn't?!"

7) What's one of their quirky habits?
i love how when i start singing a song, she starts singing along too - but 90% of the time, she doesn't know the song or the words, so she either echoes the little part i sang, or completely adds some new words to it and makes it her "own" song. it cracks me up, every single time. but it's cool too when she does know what i'm singing and we're nerds and sing it together. that's happened more often lately, since i've been listening to that darn justin timbersmack.

8) How much time do you spend with this person?
well, since she lives in dallas, i haven't gotten to spend much time with her. but we talk on the phone at least 5 days out of the week. 3 out of 5 times it's over an hour long. maybe i'm exaggerating, but that has actually happened at least 2 weeks in a row.

9) What is your best memory with this person?
there's so many it's hard to choose. i'm gonna say going to Disneyworld was amazing. i'm glad i got to experience the happiest place in the world with my best friend.

10) How long have you been friends?
i met her during Buff Branding - and that was August of 2000. so this coming August, it will be 7 years. oooooo! that calls fo a CELEBRAYSHIONE!

11) What was your first impression?
We were at college orientation, and the girl that was in the Commuter's class with me said, hey, come meet my buff branding group. and we walk up to a giant group of kids, and that girl walks straight up to a short indian girl - and my mouth drops open and i'm like,"Are you Indian? cuz I'M PAKISTANI!" lol, it was so friggin cheesey. i knew i wanted to be friends with her the second i met her, and i felt like maybe college wasn't going to be so bad. she was open, and friendly, smiled and shook my hand - everything they want you to be like in speech class. she listened to me and i made her laugh, so i was glad. i knew we were going to be friends the moment we met.

12) Describe your best friend's best dance moves.
oh em gee. mital. can. break. it. down. i mean, i keep some contractor's phone numbers in my phone cuz the last time we went out, she tore the roof off, and the clubowners got mad and wanted it rebuilt. i dunno how she moves it, but i fo daim sho can't move it like her. i know, because i try, and i fail, miserably. and that's just for booty music. i took her raving with me a few times. it's not her thing, but she would dance and get into it. the last jungle party we went to in lubbock, she just started moving and made up her own moves, and they were RAD! i was totally impressed. she's a total blast to go anywhere with.

13) Who do you think would be your best friend's perfect man?
Definitely a Christian man. someone with a strong heart and faith that runs deep, and keeps God first in his life. he would have a strong prayerlife - as he would have to be strong enough to pray over her and their children, and be a family man who loves his Bible. he should be smart, and know how to handle money. he would have to be sweet, and make her laugh. gosh, he's a goner if he can't make her laugh. he'd have to make her feel good about herself, and encourage her - and perhaps they'd both share a love for missions and traveling. he has to love her the way he loves himself.

14) If your best friend could be a candy heart, what would it say?
Everyone Loves Me
(what? everyone does... lol *jab jab)

so here it is my dear friend - you warmed my heart by asking me to be your valentine, so i thought we'd be cheesey and do this. you understand me on so many different levels, and ya never judge me. no one on this earth can take the space you have in my heart.
i love you. Happy Valentine's Day girlie!

I went to the chiropracter for the very first time in my life this morning. she's a peppy, sweet, blonde-haired, blue-eyed, ex-cheerleader. we laughed through the entire session.

i've waited so long to write this post... i don't know why. it's intimidating. again, i don't know why. it's a committment i'm afraid of - because it is probably the most important committment i can make, and yet - i somehow know i won't hold myself to it. i hope i'm wrong. just once, i'd like to do something for God - to repay a glimmer for what He's done for me. i've decided to start a new blog. one completely dedicated to every thought and emotion i have for HIm. a place to remember things He's done for me in my past. maybe even an outlet for prayers. you know me... anything goes. but this time, with a purpose. i'm hoping it will keep me on track, help keep my mind in the right place, because i need Him now more than ever. this is the address: outofallpeople.blogspot.com
you may choose to read it or not. it may not be your cup of tea, and i can respect that. it's just something i want to do from deep within my heart... and i hope you can respect that...
so here it is God, my 100th post. i dedicate it to You. no matter what happens, i always end up coming back to you. i was thinking it'd be nice if i could stay longer this time...

with love - sarah

i really don't know why i did this, but i did.
i made up my own survey.
are you R O T F L O L' ing?
well you should. and i also get to introduce a new friend, and her name is Johanna. she's just plain awezome.

1. What is your favorite Disney movie?
me: i enjoyed Aladdin, and the Lion King, Mulan, and the one i watch over and over is Lilo & Stitch.
mital: Definitely Lion King, Aladdin, and did Disney team with Pixar for Toy Story? B/c that was good too. Yes, and Mulan. How can I possibly leave out a story about a badass chick. And, I know it was a made for tv movie series, but Xenon. Mega cool.
susie: Pocahontas, Mulan, hercules mmm, can't think of what others, the one i've seen too many times is cinderella. oh spirited away, is that disney? [no. no it's not.]
aspen: Little Mermaid!
johanna: I like the emperor's new groove. it's funny

2. Who is your favorite Disney princess?
me: Jasmine for sure - middle eastern hottie! or Pocahontas. she was beautiful too.
those crazy disney artists sure know how to draw! deeeeezam!

mital: See, Sarah. Told you you took the good answers. B/c I'm gonna have to go with Jasmine as well. What? She's down with my kind of people.
susie: well, funny you asked cause a long time ago people used to call me mulan, i think my favorite is pocahontas though, she's the prettiest and my favorite personality wise.
aspen: I don’t know, like I said earlier…probably the Little Mermaid
johanna: totally pocahontas. she is pretty and smart too.

3. Fave Disney prince?
me: um, all of the Asians in Mulan. mmm...asians.... or pocahontas' man, John Smith? i dunno, the blonde guy with blue eyes. so attracted to the opposite of what i normally see everyday.
mital: Definitely gotta go with Prince Eric in the Little Mermaid. Yep, the clean cut guy. Give him to me. NOW. As well as Mulan's honey--he's hot.
susie: never thought about it. i don't know [it's never about the prince anyway.]
aspen: Totally Aladdin…still have the hots for that guy!
johanna: Moses, the prince of egypt. mmmm-mmm sooo hot.

4. What Disney song do you sing all the time?
me: "a whole new world" from aladdin and "in the jungle, the mighty jungle" from lion king, oh! and "bear necessities" from jungle book
mital: "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", "Hakunnah Matata"
susie: "sing sweet nightingale" or however it's spelled.
aspen: Hakuna Matata from the Lion King “hakuna matata, it means no worries, for the rest of your days…”
johanna: that song that gaston from beauty and the beast sings about how great he is and his chest hair.

5. If you could match up and interchange any of the characters, who would you like to see together as a couple?
me: i bet Jasmine could go for some Asian prince in Mulan... boo yow! sorry aladdin, you're hot and all, but where's the ambition? you just got rich off of jasmine, ya bum.
mital: Mowgli and Jasmine. Now, they'd have the coolest pets ever.
susie: mulan and john smith! that would be like me and todd, yeah right...
aspen: Oh, how about Simba from the Lion King and Maja from Aladdin…now that is a good match!
johanna: totally pocahontas and moses

6. If you could live out any Disney movie, which would you pick?
me: i'd say Aladdin, cuz it'd be badass to have Genie, flying carpet, AND a tiger as a pet.
mital: Tarzan and I would obviously be Jane. Just kidding, I'll have to steal answers again and go with Aladdin. For the same reasons.
susie: I agree with the flying carpet, that be pretty cool, plus you get a genie that does all this stuff for you. lilo and stitch would be cool too, cause you get to live in Hawaii, i don't know about the alien pet though, definitely not Alice in wonderland.
aspen: I think it would have to be Sleeping Beauty. Ah, to sleep that long only to wake up to a HOT prince kissing you. I dream about those days.
johanna: Yeah, aladin, for those same reasons

7. What was the lamest Disney movie?
me: i wasn't too thrilled with Atlantis, that one chick looked cool with the white hair, but it was crazy boring. and there was that one with the pirate ship in space, i don't even know what it's called. i didn't watch it, it just looked lame.
mital: Yeah, atlantis.
susie: the one with the ship in space (treasure planet?) yeah, not my type either, I think I need to review the list of disney movies, cause a lot i don't remember, i've never been interested in peter pan, don't know why. oh, also bambi is the worst movie a kid can watch.
aspen: I don’t know, I haven’t actually seen any of the newer Disney movies. So probably those.
johanna: I think beauty and the beast was pretty lame.

8. If you had to create the next Disney movie, what would the storyline be?
me: hmm, since everything has already been done pretty much... aliens, bugs, every race has been represented... except for black people, right? is there a black Disney princess? ooohhh...*for shame disney. for shame. i always thought it'd be cool for them to do a modern type storyline with cool people in new york, one that includes a pakistani girl dj'ing in a club perhaps...lol or a loaf of bread that comes to life and steals your teeth in the night, and in the morning you wonder why your toast is crunchy... ewww....
mital: Why did Disney leave out the black people? They make up for it with the Proud Family on the TV channel. The storyline for the next Disney movie should be about a little Indian girl who travels through time and different dimensions to find her one true love, white or not. ;) A little sci-fi disney, a little sci.
susie: good one sarah, indeed there is no black princess. i wonder why, even barbie has the black version and so do bratz. I'd like to see an indian princess, like from india not native american, and she could like wear saris and stuff, and do some cool dances.
aspen: Oh, that’s hard. If I could write my own Disney movie…I would be rich. But it would have to have a Princess, Handsome Prince, and a talking animal. That seems to be a theme with all Disney movies.
johanna: I don't think I'm this bored. sorry. how 'bout a cartoon porn?

and to end with susie's quote:
me: man, every race IS represented except for black people...
susie: "yeah, they've got Native American, Russian, a lot of white, Asian, Arabian, Greek, fish-people..."
